JOYCE BANDA FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL/MARKET WOMENS ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES (MWAI) PROJECT signed an MOU with TNM to work in partnership in rural Malawi to provide opportunities to MWAI MEMBERS by providing them with digital finance, access to mobile phones and other services including mobile banking. We believe that with these opportunities our rural communities with enjoy transformation. We have also agreed that time has come for women to own kiosks to sell TNM products.
I praise God that in my lifetime I will be able to see women in rural areas not only own mobile phones in large numbers but also most importantly take control of their hard earned money. I have helplessly watched women lose their money through irresponsible husbands and children. With E-banking their children will benefit as well. We have also decided to allow men in the community to participate.
